Board Member

Kwame Appiah -Kubi is a native of Jukwa in the Central Region of Ghana and a graduate of the University of Cape Coast where he received a BA in Education (Accounting and Economics). After receiving his undergraduate education, he taught school and worked as an accounts officer. Following his passion, he pursued further training in tourism and hospitality at the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA).

In October 2012, Kwame and his family founded the Divine Kids Academy, a life-targeted goal to educate and train children in his hometown village, Jukwa. He was inspired by his own humble beginnings growing up in Jukwa, which motivated him to provide a firm and solid educational foundation for children growing up in unserved rural communities. Kwame has stayed committed to the children and families living in Jukwa, where he has been a lead administrator for Divine Kids Academy since its establishment in 2012.

Over a decade ago, he began working with Amizade Global and Virtual Service Learning and this opportunity has provided him with the experience to work with nonprofit organizations and student service-learning programs internationally. As a result of these experiences, in 2022 he was very instrumental in creating and developing the “Volunteering Club” for students in high schools located across the Central Region of Ghana

Kwame’s life narration changed significantly when he had his first encounter with Virginia State University (a Historically Black College and University – HBCU) Social Work Faculty-Led Student Service-Learning Program. He combined his passion for travel and volunteering to create a youth-initiated group to provide the community with an alternative livelihood system called “Kae Daakyi”.

Kwame has organized numerous global service-learning programs, overseeing life-changing international global experiences for thousands of students while spearheading sector-changing innovations such as the DKA Sustainable Alternative Garden and the Community concept of Fair-Trade Learning.

Kwame is currently the director of Kwame Kultural Tour, a travel and tour company based in Ghana. He organizes tour programs for college and high school students, families, individuals, and other organizations and mission groups.

Kwame is a certified tour officer, educator, historian, and community activist who loves to share his immersive intercultural experiences with others.

He is married and the father of three beautiful daughters.
