Small grants focus on supporting small-scale development projects and enable a flexible, operational, and effective response to development needs at the local level.

2. AMOUNT REQUESTED

The maximum amount of the non-repayable financial contribution is $500 USD per project. 4 grants will be awarded for the 2026 calendar.

3. PROJECT DURATION

6 – 36 months. Beginning from the date of Approval and acceptance from Mimosa International Foundation and the requestor.

4. SECTOR PRIORITIES

Educational project support consists of direct support to student learning, such as tuition, uniforms, transportation, textbooks, and pedagogical curriculum support.

5. REQUIREMENTS

The call for proposals is open to registered non-governmental organizations ONLY.
● The recipient NGO’s name in English, in the language of origin, and any acronym or other names used to identify the recipient;
● The jurisdictions in which the recipient maintains a physical presence;
● Any reasonably available historical information about the recipient that assures us of the recipient’s identity and integrity;
● The available postal, email, website addresses, and phone number of the recipient’s place of business of the recipient;
● A statement of the principal purpose of the recipient, including a detailed report of the recipient’s projects and goals;
● Copies of any public filings or releases made by the recipient, including the most recent registry documents, annual reports, and annual filings with the pertinent government, as applicable; and
● The recipient’s sources of income, such as official grants, private endowments, and commercial activities.

6. REVIEW PROCESS

Once the application is submitted, it will undergo an evaluation process conducted by external evaluators. The process will include proposal review, financial analysis, and team discussion. For those organizations being considered for board approval, a site visit (virtual or in-person) and further due diligence will be conducted. MIFoA views a site visit as an integral part of the due diligence process. The board will meet to approve grants at a designated time set by the board.

All grantees must respond in acceptance to the grant within 30 days of announcement from Mimosa. Funds acceptance is predicated upon the signatories of the documents, as signified by Mimosa, U.S.A., and the receiving countries, for financial and foreign compliance purposes.

After an award has been disbursed, a Mimosa board member or outside grant officer will oversee the awardee’s reporting compliance. Oversight may occur in the form of auditing.

REQUIRED DOCUMENTS FOR SUBMISSION

1. Application
2. NGO Certificate/License of Operation and Good Standing (A certified or notarized copy of the Certificate of Incorporation from the Host Country’s Registration Services Bureau or equivalent from the Country of Incorporation.)
3.NGO Accreditation Status
4. A certificate of good conduct of each of the signatories to the resolution or at least two Board members of the organization.
Contact address, including physical address, mailing address, phone number, email, and website (if available)
5. Proof of bank account and financial statement of the NGO from 2 years before the grant application.
6. Reports of prior projects taken by the NGO within the same category as the applied project and project evaluations.
7. Mission and Vision Statement of the NGO.
8. Annual Work plan and budget
